Smolare waterfall is located on the northern slopes of Mount Belasica along the river Lomnica, at an altitude of 600 m. The waterfall received its name from the nearby village Smolare. At the bottom of the waterfall a giant pot is formed. Its length in the direction of flow of the water is five meters, the width is an eleven meters and the depth is about 0,6 meters. The total height of Smolare waterfall is almost 40 meters. Smolare waterfall is the only permanent waterfall in Macedonia with a drop of water from almost 40 meters. To get to the waterfall, you need to travel the narrow, winding road. Smolare waterfall is wonderful and you definitely must visit if you are in Strumica, Macedonia.
